treehouse

As a child, I didn’t know that trees die.  Not simply, not naturally, of old age. I was old enough to know that people died.  But not trees. There were two huge sycamore trees outside my bedroom bay window. I read, played and slept in my very own tree house  I loved them.  I knew they were very, very old.  I was six. They were forever.
