little thieves, shore birds

Shore birds are sly little creatures. Not the hustling, bustling sandpipers, the bigger small ones, as in is that an oxymoron. My daughter and I were swimming in the ocean, and when we got back to our spot, the flap of her small cotton beach bag was open, and a cellophane wrapper from those little cheese crackers was shredded, part on the blanket, part on the sand. A few crumbs were left scattered. They opened the bag, stole the food, and THEN thanked us by pooping on the blanket! We had to laugh, while folding up the blanket and plopping on bare sand. Cheeky little bastards!
